Modo Casino Sponsoring No. 77 Car for Quartet of NASCAR Races
Carson Hocevar's No. 77 car will be sponsored by Modo Casino and Spire Motorsports for four NASCAR races this year, beginning on August 23 with the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Dayton International Speedway.
Modo is a division of ARB Interactive, a Miami-based company that just bought Publishers Clearing House (PCH). ARB's second partnership in the motorsports industry is with NASCAR. The BWT Alpine Formula One (F1) team already has a sponsorship deal with the gaming industry.
"I’ve been looking forward to kicking off the Modo Casino partnership and introducing its games to the NASCAR world,” said Carson Hocevar, driver of the No. 77 car, in a statement. “Modo Casino has been growing its presence through Formula 1 and working with content creators, so I’m excited to join the team and continue building that growth.”
Modo will support Hocevar's ride for three more races in October, including the Cup Series tilts at Martinsville Speedway, Talladega Superspeedway, and The Roval at Charlotte Motor Speedway, after the Daytona race. Hocevar started the race at Richmond on Saturday in 20th place in the points standings.
Casino Modo Making Its Name Known
As one of the most business-oriented sports in the United States, NASCAR and its teams have sponsorship agreements with several businesses from a wide range of industries.
"America's fastest-growing social casino platform" is how Modo gaming characterizes itself. In order to win "free-to-win prizes, including cash and experiences," players can "wager." Modo gamers play slots and table games like blackjack and baccarat with in-game money.
Since Modo is the provider of a free-to-play platform, it stays out of the scandals surrounding sweepstakes casinos.
“Modo Casino is our flagship free to play gaming platform, designed for thrill-seekers who crave casino action anywhere, anytime. From classic table games to the latest video slots, Modo brings new games every day, offering something for every kind of play,” according to ARB’s website.
Although many social casinos don't give players the chance to win real money, they may market themselves as kinder, gentler alternatives to conventional gambling.
NASCAR Continues to Support Betting
NASCAR has been open to cosying up to gaming corporations ever since the Supreme Court's 2018 decision on the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA). A number of races are sponsored by casinos, and FanDuel is the series' official gaming partner.
In the past, sportsbook companies DraftKings and BetMGM have sponsored cars in a few NASCAR races. In order to have its name appear on Ty Dillon's No. 10 Chevrolet for two races in September, DraftKings signed an agreement with Kaulig Racing earlier this week.
