Casino Crime Round Up: Man Wounded in Casino Lot Shooting
Authorities in New York State are searching for the shooter who injured a man on Friday night outside a gambling establishment on Long Island.
Despite having critical injuries, the 38-year-old Wyandanch, New York, victim managed to enter Jake's 58 Casino and Hotel in Islandia, New York. He disclosed that he was injured. Police were contacted by casino employees.
The injured individual was eventually taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where doctors attended to him.
The shooting happened in the parking area of the casino. According to Newsday, T he victim looks to have been shot twice.
According to News 12 Long Island, T he shooter targeted the victim, and it doesn't seem like a random act. Nobody else was hurt.
T he suspect left the parking lot after firing the shots and never entered the casino structure.
Police had not yet made an arrest in the case as of early Sunday. There has been no update on the victim's condition.
Casino officials reviewed their safety protocols as a result of T he event.
"We’re going to revamp and refresh everything we have, do new training for our workers and work more closely with the Suffolk County Police Department who … did a great job,” Phil Boyle, president and CEO of Suffolk Regional Off-Track Betting, told News 12.
Truck and Bus Collide at a California Casino
On Thursday night, a bus from Chumash Casino Resort collided with a pickup truck on California's Highway 154, injuring two persons.
One of the victims was a bus rider. The truck was being driven by the other. According to reports, both had "moderate injuries." To receive medical attention for their wounds, everybody was taken to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital immediately. The bus carried 20 people in all.
According to Noozhawk.com, a local news website, T he accident caused authorities to stop Highway 154 for almost 90 minutes. The cause of the collision was still being looked into by the police. As of late last week, no charges had been brought.
Santa Ynez, California, is where the casino is situated.
Stolen Winning Ticket
The guy who stole a winning ticket at the Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel on April 28 is still being sought by Kentucky authorities.
Kentucky TV station WKDZ said that the ticket was seized by the unidentified man. In the gaming property, he cashed it.
After then, he left the building. He was last observed strolling around Oak Grove, Kentucky's Fort Campbell Boulevard.
It looked like he had on a green shirt. He's got a beard.
